Re: Hotrod convertion
I can help you if you can answer these questions.
#1. Cubic displacement IE: 305, 350, 355, 383, 406, etc.
#2. Transmission type: Automatic, or manual.
#3. Compression ratio and cylinder head type.
#4. Cam specifications: Duration & lift @ .050 & Lobe separation angle (LSA)
#5. Injector size: Brand & number preferred.
#6. Fuel rail number IE: 1708XXXX, or if using an adjustable pressure regulator? What is the desired pressure at idle with vacuum disconnected. I will recommend if asked.
#7. Vehicle Anti Theft System (VATS): Enable / Disable
#8. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR): Enable / Disable
#9 Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS): Enable / Disable.
#10 Charcoal Canister Purge (CCP): Enable / Disable.
#11 Air injector Reactor (Smog Pump): Enable / Disable.
#12. Cooling fan(s) settings: 160, 180, or 195. I recommend using at least a 180 thermostat for TPI.
#13 Knock sensor: High compression, and high lift cams can create chatter that will be picked up by the sensor. Knock sensor may need to be disabled in certain combinations.
#14. Speed limiter: Default is 255 mph / or specify desired speed.
#15. RPM limiter: Default is 10,000 RPM / I recommend limiting it to 800 rpm over peak horsepower expected.
The most important is the injector number and fuel pressure. In your initial post you said 68 Camaro and I think you meant 86? This would mean you've put a 305 unit on a 350?

Re: Hotrod convertion
Hi Mr Willis
You are correct it is a 86_87 tip unit on a 350
1. 350_290hp crate motor
2. Turbo 350 automatic
3. compression 8-1
4. Cam ?
5. Injectors Denso 22lb part no u10695-8N fuel pressure 43.5psi
6. Fuel rail numbers on top of rail 1995HUX 17085050 with standard vacuum regulator fuel pressure is meant to be 43.5psi
7. No Vats
8. No EGR
9. No Speed sensor
10. No Canister Purge
11. No Air Injection
12. Davies Craig EPW water pump and fan control set to 180deg no thermostat requirement
13. No Knock sensor
14. speed Limiter ?
15. RPM Limiter ?
Hope this helps the original injectors would not work and were replaced by the Denso up grade.
It has Maf and Maf burn off.

Re: Hotrod convertion
I always recommend running a speed sensor. If you have a mechanical speedometer output you can use one of these.

You need the first one shown.
If you can burn your own stuff you can download your file here.
http://scotthansen.net/cvan1939sburn.bin
Right click and chose save target as. If you need me to burn it to a memcal (AKA Prom) send me a PM or Email me through my website. I used the 1989 ARAP as a base so no cold start injector needed. Not knowing the cam I left the idle timing stock so if it rumbles a bit I can add. EDIT: Double edit: The 290 HP crate motor has the L82 or 300 HP cam and is 222 / 222 on a 114 LSA and is Flat Tappet. I fixed it and re uploaded it.

Re: Hotrod convertion
Not something auto matic. You need a way to read it and a matching xdf and then its still a manual job moving it to code such as 12p which has been modified to support the nvram hardware.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Like this?
Re: Hotrod convertion
Given that I need to wire in the map in place of the maf and remove the maf relay and burn off relay will I need to repin the ECU to match a commodore ECU to work with the nvram and 12p

Maybe you could fit a loom from something that ran a 1227165 ECU?
