I'm looking for the most cost effective way to get the best results. I'll probably go to pick a part or somewhere like that to get all the bits I need. I also want to run a t700 transmission behind it so does that mean I need to buy a V6 auto computer?

The most cost effective way to do it is the way I posted first, plus remove the vacuum and mechanical advance from the distributor.

808, 082, and 305 ECMs will run both auto and manuals unless you want to run an electronic auto then you'll need to get a PCM from a VS or VT and then you'll have more fiddling about with wiring.

Thanks for the info

have a good read of this: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4&p=4 if its not in there is probably not needed :P

most cost effective way to do it would be to get a loom and ecu from wreckers, along with the sensors you need from the same motor....

see if you can find a $200 vn commodore for sale! :)

VR auto computer (the '424) can run 11p which is pretty much 12p but with support for the 4L60E. The '424 is more similar to the 808, 082, and 305 ecms and is still MAP based. See the hardware and software guide in the FAQ for more info (link near top right).

For a straight six the JE camira efi loom is a great fit, you just need to add two additional wires for the extra injectors. I just stripped off all the tape from the loom and laid it out how I needed it fit the straight six. Holden 202's and the other guys guides are great? If you want to see someone who had absolutely no idea and limited electronic experience pull it off then check out my post, 265 Hemi to efi.
