well i broke the ect/iat again. made the mistake of not having a file name saying -this works. so ended up wasting another hr trying to figure out what i changed that broke it.

turns out it was some extra can id's i turned on in the ecu. for future purposes dont turn on 3D1, 3E9...

Turning on the REPTOS in the 2011 TCM code however got the VZ speedo working on the hsv dash & it was spot on.

Going through some old CAN captures from E38/Link & TCM2650, it does appear the issue likely resolves around the 1A1 can id. In this particular OS it does not produce any more 2 bytes of data, When i require a min of 4.

Well it works. 1A1 is definitely what was holding out the final 3 gears.

Video of it shifting through all the gears. Speedo matches TCM/ECU thanks to previous work getting the REPTOS output enabled.

So what does have to be changed on a stock e40 to correctly talk to the t43?

If it works on only early model t43s I think I know how to get later year ones work. The 2007? Corvette and 2007 full size pickup t43, has a different can message sent. I changed a 07 vette t43 can message identifier to work with a 07 truck t43. The e38 07 vette didn’t talk to any newer t43, without pcm a/b codes. And the same thing happened the other way around. So I assume changing a newer t43 to the vette message would work

the 24256125 os is a 2011 year model, this one was already fitted to the car, so i've not tried an earlier model trans.

What i've found that to get most stuff to work just requires matching the timing for can id's for the controllers along with turning on the relevant can id's.

As long as trans can see ECT,IAT, pedal position, engine torque across the various can id's it will tend to work. The exception being that 1A1 id, where if it doesn't get transmitted you wont get past 3rd gear.

This will vary a bit from OS to OS.

Hey Tre, if I send you a tcm hpt read, can you make sure it's going to be happy talking to a VZ pim?

what format? if it's in HPT i have to create an xdf file & i hate it.

If it's efilive I'll probably have it done already.
