i haven't changed out the throttlebody, at least not yet. as it doesn't seem to care.
I'm going to put it on the dyno tomorrow, but it drove home from the workshop tonight (about 25km's) and it cleared all the permanent dtc codes in the ecu it had.
if you use 24249179, it will work for both early and late ecu's with some tweaks for the early units.

Re: PWM Control of GM Alternators
Thanks for the feedback! Interesting - will have to give 09+ ECM another shot with regular silver blade TB. And will take a look at 24249179.Tre-Cool wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 2:42 pm i haven't changed out the throttlebody, at least not yet. as it doesn't seem to care.

Re: PWM Control of GM Alternators
The L terminal options dont need to be changed. I think i just had them mapped in since they were alternator related.MPC001 wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 9:56 amThanks for the share Tre-Cool! Did the last two items need changing as well to disable RVC? G1006/7?Tre-Cool wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 10:31 am not sure if you find this helpful or not.
Just converted a vz 6lt crewman to a 2010 6l80e. Both following combo's require EVC generator options to be turned off otherwise voltage sits at 11.5v. (I just used the same parameters from the 2006 ecu into the newer units)
VF-Alternator-Charging.png
2011 VE ecu os 12659270 & tcm-24256125, then went to VF-OS - 12656930 & TCM-24267577
I can mix-match tcm os with the either ecu code.
On the ECM TCM OS interworking, I must put some effort into getting C6 12628990 or 12635863 or 12639270 running properly with 24243170 when i get a chance.
Have had 12628990 running but shifts & idle a bit off. I have a gold blade TB to go in now, maybe that was why >> more playing.![]()

Re: PWM Control of GM Alternators
this is good info, a while back i tried to pwm my vz alternator (on a test stand) but could never get it to work .... i didnt have a pullup though and i cant recall the hz i was using! will have to re-try with this info!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
Just starting out? Have a read of the getting started guide

My vy with the pwn controller is 128hz, requires about 90%dc to charge at 14vHolden202T wrote: Sun Jun 28, 2026 12:12 am this is good info, a while back i tried to pwm my vz alternator (on a test stand) but could never get it to work .... i didnt have a pullup though and i cant recall the hz i was using! will have to re-try with this info!

i just made an arduino to cycle through duty cycles, but i cant recall what hz or anything.

Re: PWM Control of GM Alternators
I also have E83 delco (opel/chevy 4 cyl)
Cant find alternator control to eliminate battery training mode
Really annoyng to see when voltage drops to 12.5 and get back to 14
