I live near low society too and one of the highest cop per capita areas in vic. Never had an issue really. There is plenty of drugo scum bags around that my clean old holdens an only be owned by either old grandpas or people with at least an income so its not on their radar. The scum here can't afford a running commodore so they all drive around clapped out lasers or daewoo and alike.

Only ever get pulled over for breathos and thats it.

Well around here 90's commies and falcons are/were the norm.... that is changing as the feral ones are moving over to 4X4..last night coming home from work I came through the roundabout bottom of my street. looked in the rear view to see the constabulary's right up my butt, NFI where they came from as I like to look through the turn (Rode crutch rockets for most of my life).Im thinking feck here we go, then notice the P platers in front of me in a clapped out VS waggon...The waggon made a run for a side street and the boys were off :D....To be fair Im an old fart and they tend to leave me alone but I get tailed/profiled all the time....

heh you are right... I have noticed a lot of them trending away from the typical jap/commodore/falcon hoon cars and most go 4wd now. I assume because there are no cops in the bush to ruin their fun :P

You'll be wrong on that last statement. Cops in 4X4 are in the national parks catching them and those who take dirt bikes there

Should have the diff back in a week or so.

On a different subject I'm getting my win 98 rig slowly happening.

Need to find a mouse that will work on 98 as nothing new is supported on it. USB key boards work plug and play though, go figure!

Had a bit of a shit fight trying to install windows, kept hanging on the very first thing the setup did, pci bus scan. Hung at the first line but not a crash as such, just the cursor flashing after "driver provided by oak technology etc..."

Thought it was becasue the HDD was one still with NTFS. I used the ultimate boot disk and spent several hours trying to find a utility that would actually work on this PC to be able to delete the partition and do any formating. Everything failed until I used one called kill disk to wipe the drive with all 0's and then I was able to use the FDISK to at a DOS partition.

Still hung at install, so I had a hunch maybe the PCI nvidia 5500 FX was pissing it off so I pulling it out and ran the on board (shivers :x intel graphics) and that got it to work.

windows installed and the 5500FX installed again it seem to be working but I have the dilemma of being locked out, USB drives don't work, no drivers for them as standard and the network card needs drivers too so its catch 22.

I found the only blank CD I have and currently burning a heap of drivers and essentials as we speak.

they just love 4x4 these days. you go into the bush in a 4x4 you will get stopped or seen by them. prolly more of them there than there are on the normal roads.

yeah win98 won't have a bar of NTFS.
it sounds like you have an old fashioned IRQ conflict mate.
what mobo are you running this rig on?
my only foray these days into older tech is WinXP but i gave up on hardware so run it inside fusion as a VM...
