That said I actually never checked my center if I could see through or not. I just knew it was going to work the way I was doing it and it did just fine.
For the VP S I have decided to go for a Torsen center. They make 2 types for the M75/M76 (not M78) one for 3.08 or less and one for 3.23 and higher.
Torsen are even better at directing torque to the correct wheels than Kaaz or true trac. Anyway the Torsen also is a straight through center and technically won't need any shortening if I use another set of NOS VR axles. I probably will as its only 85 buck each lol and they have the access holes balanced unlike any aftermarket offering.
I thought a truetrac was a torsen diff? Or is it just the max split proportion is different?
No, torsen are a different company all together. Although the new gen torsen is similar-ish to the truetrac in design the original torsen design is vastly different.
Essentially they operate a bit different to other lsd and have the advantage of very fast locking action like the kaaz does but also retain a torque biasing action like the true tracs do. Like the best of both worlds.

Those are the old version which have a very good TBR (torque bias ratio) and therefore do pretty well in single wheel traction loss. The newer design the ratio is a lot less and will single spin when the traction on one wheel is too small (less that the the TBR). There is the latest version T2-R, type 2 meaning the newer spiral pinion (aka true trac style) and R meaning race spec where its equipped with a preload clutch in conjunction with the natural design of the torque biasing LSD.
So what this does is gives the 2 sides a partial braking resistance where in the case of total loss of traction on one wheel ( inside wheel lift for eg.) the preload braking effect gives enough bias for the free spinning wheel that it allows the torque biasing action of the gears to take over and transfer the torque to the wheel that had traction or in contact with the ground like the example.
So the T2-R versions of the torsen are the best of both worlds.
Unfortunately I have realized they don't make one for the M75 diff in R version. Not yet anyway.

There is a crowd that does the same thing with the true-trac style centre, exact same concept to achieve the same result (pre-load clutch).

Picked up the sump, prep'd it along with the TB.
The usual chemical cleaning and treatments etc...

Thats all the painting for this year. So all that I'll be doing over the break is finishing off the engine cradle, mating up the box and engine after I fit the sump.
Then I will start on gutting the VP, and a much needed tidy up of the shed. Hopefully clear up the outside east side wall so I can get access to it. Much needed reno of the walls. They don't do what a wall is suppose to do, keep the outside.... outside. Wind, dirt, leaves, rats and mice get in and I'm sick of vacuuming the layer of dirt setting in 2m from all the walls every week.

Been speaking to Quaife engineering in the UK. They also have a center suitable for the M75/M76.
Still just clarifying a few details but looks like it would be model QDF3M.
Edit. I think they emailed me a typo. QDH3M is what the drawings say and seem to match up with them being listed for Mogan using BTR M76 axles on various sites on the net. QDF3M dimensions are tiny and listed as Renault.
