Ram arrived as well as the CPUs, but I might have to get another set of CPUs as I realized latter that Athlon XP doesn't officially work in multi CPU configs, some do but 3200+ isn't known to work.

There is a special version called Athlon MP (assuming MP means multi processor?) And it looks like they have more cache than the XP variant as they are server CPUs after all.

I just spotted a BFG over clocked 6800 Ultra AGP :wtf: I going to give that one a go on ebay but I reckon it will go for big bucks.

noice.
you could apparently hack the XP for MP.
i'd just stick with an MP chip though dude. too much unknown, some worked, some didnt.
i had one aeons ago but jumped into the Intel camp and been there ever since, overpriced crap that it is.

I believe the case is with the XP vs MP is the later XP had the L1 cache bridge cut on the die. Also the MP has a max of 266 bus but much higher multiplier, where the XP is a 400 bus for the late models with lower multiplier.

Having XP 3200 which was the greatest and latest socket A it shouldn't work in this board. Though I have read it works with a single CPU installed, but stuff that ! I want 2 CPUs !

After much digging I found this.

Looks like its nothing to do with cache where I had previously read before.

I think I will give it a go and see what happens.
