Looking at the last photo, are you running some sort of coil over in the back?

Nah.. The stock pump and tank with no fluid was 6.3kg and 7.8kg for the barina unit before taking approx another kg worth of not requied shaft and brackets off. The selling point for me was the lack of hyrolic fluid and hoses - all shit that goes wrong. The only concern i have with this unit is its IP rating... Or lack of... (Ingress protection)

another thought... I hope the shaft is nice and strong.... where you didnt have much weight on the steering shaft before as the rack did most of its own work, now you have a LOT of force acting upon those uni joints that arent all that straight.

Yeah, I can see what you are saying, the top uni is from the barina that when in a barina runs on a much tighter angle, I'll try and find a photo..

The lower uni is standard VH commodore, the Commodore one is much bulkier and stronger looking. The shaft in between is solid.

So it's been a little while, got the brakes and clutch plumbing done tonight. Was going to use the original rear line and this is what I found in about the middle of the car...
Image
So made a new line
Image
Inside... Used bulkhead connectors to get through the fire wall
Image
You can see the new strut brace and how much is now missing from the chassis rails now... About 5kgs worth of rail!!!

Getting there...

Holy crap that is weird to look at with all that sheet metal missing. Good to see you having a crack still.
When's the next race?
