Well seems to be working fine now. Actually posts straight away for the first time and does so consistently too. Also skips the memory test as it should of in the first place as quick boot option has always been on. I had all sorts of weird issues where the ram would detect at different sizes every time it would eventually post. I was playing around with the fx5500 PCI card and managed to lock myself out of it as the pci card yet again refuses to be recognized and I had disabled the on board gpu via the bios, same issue with the p3 setup. POS pci card!

So I had to clear the bios but this time it got a checksum error and it stated it loaded its defaults ( which were the same settings as it had before) but this time shit actually worked. So it seems maybe the bios was showing default values but still contained other values in the back ground causing issues? Anyway I have tested booting it in all the ways possible like 20 times and its perfect now. Go figure!

sounds like the bios config was screwed up, and, clearing it and starting again fixed your woes. that is interesting man.

Now its doing it all again after I installed a SB live card. Cleared the bios again and seems to post up normal but now its back to doing the full memory test again sees random amounts of ram. wtf!!

EDIT:

Now its fine after allowing to boot the HDD and after resetting it as it BSOD due to being out of the p3 computer it now doesn't do the memory test. :?:

Also I'm looking for amd chipset drivers for 760MPX but there is no where to download them, all bs sites that lead you to some other unrelated software or malware, or blatantly want you to pay for the drivers.

And yes, I spent like 6 hours straight searching and found nothing.

Back to the car.

Got my stuff from speeds.

I need to make another trip from work for the other bumper as I only just managed to get one in there with great difficulty.

And got the other bits alongside.

And finally a new diff plug, amazing how soft a NOS one is.

NOS RHS rear tail light cos that was cheap and where the car was hit at some stage so it looks funky the way the studs sit so I reckon they would be broken. Too bad I could find a NOS left one to match, but worst case I should be ble to find a really nice used one or make do with mine by making a new seal and cut/polish the acrylic.

Also more progress on the paint stripping. Nearly out of microfiber cloths, all 40 of them and nearly 12L of acetone  Not to mention a bag and a half of normal rags but they suck for doing this. To think I'm not even half way

250, not a nos one, just a Bosch/PBR one for the VP S. I got it for convenience and the res/cap since it will all be converted to run DOT5

Not much lately due to nonstop interstate work and not so good health but none the less I got some progress.

Plating is apparently done but need to make a time to drive to drive there and will use that opportunity to get parts blasted on the way in and hand them the parts for the e-coating.

Also waiting a shipment of activated charcoal to hand refill my gas mask filters as they are prohibitively expensive. I would need to buy about 6 pairs or more to complete the job and at 35 a pair its a bit stupid and they saturate way to quick, getting to the point they actually gas me if I use the mask as it releases fumes into the air I breath through it.

I spent a week searching for the charcoal, no one sell it anymore. I went as far as ringing up places even in Melbourne and no luck. I used to be able to buy it at my local HW store and pet shop not even 10 years ago. I even struggled to find it on ebay as it only comes up as some bs diet fad fine powder crap or sellers from UK mostly. Did manage to get 1Kg from a pet shop in Dandenong on ebay for 10 odd bucks so have to wait for it to arrive.

Couldn't even flex it the slightest without it shattering and bits flying off at the speed of sound.

Most of it I vacuumed up, but these bits were all on the floor. Was a painful process to pick each little bit off with all sorts of tools only for it to break in more bits.

To my surprise, I found this time the cavity wax to readily dissolve with mineral turps and cleaned up pretty easy. All other times on other cars I found that only mineral turps worked at all and took a really long time. This area alone needed a damp in turps rag stuffed in there for a good 30-60min and repeated a couple times. I was done in 15 min. I even used a tooth brush and got it all out from the seams too

I think it maybe the fact this car wasn't too roasted from the sun so all the wax and various sealants, plastics etc... aren't a complete bag of Doritos

Got The pillar mould areas finally clean of the sikaflex stuff. a real PITA! Can't wait for the windscreen groove.

Boot all ready, lock and all badge glue cleaned off. Everything except the rear quarter glass, boot vents and door handles left to remove.

I always found it interesting seeing the prep and painting process the factory used by uncovering it using this unconventional method of paint stripping.

You can see the big ass sander, maybe a robot's markings in the intermediate/high build primer.

Cheers. I should progress a lot faster after first week of April, that is the last major interstate trip for a good while (hopefully....note to self, must kill all sales people in company)

Should have it all ready in about a month and then off to the body shop!
