how in gods name is that tiny little electric motor pushing 12kw? thats 250amps at 48v. those puny wires wont carry 250amps!! I call bullshit.

It is a BLDC motor which can be plenty powerful, but they need LiPos or similar. Speed controller is rated for 360A.

I still think its BS it actually worked

Thing to remember is MAT doesnt reflect real combustion charge temps once inside the cylinder, I wouldn't even worry about. The fuel cools it on the way in, ethanol has huge cooling effect, also E85 is extremely hard to detonate. You'll find that even with 16:1 with boost wont detonate on E85, more than safe with 11:1. Drivability should be a fair bit better with just top mount and no plumbing in the way, that alone will help win races.

Also get a good cam made for the SC, you'll gain heaps with less boost, and even more with more boost. I can come up with a cam if you like?

thats my 2c
I already have a cam grind in mind that a few guys are using on l67s with good results, but I would be interested to see what you come up with if you're keen.

With the changes I'm planning, I'm aiming for around 400whp and hoping for 350. :D I don't know of any e85 l67s making those numbers without cooling. 16psi is not unheard of with the m90 and with a static comp of 11:1 dynamic comp is up around the 19-20:1 mark with a wide lsa cam I think.

Produce mad boost only need to carry 8 full sized batteries with you haha
Someone should buy one to see if it works. Not me though :D

just a quick stuff around using my NA cam lift and .050 duration and let the software optimize the cam.

got 420hp and 487ft-lb with M90 no intercooler and 15 psi, ethanol fuel, mild ported heads and 11.1 CR like you said.

interested to know, how does just changing to methanol change that number ?

hp bumps up a little, not heaps, but allowing more boost and cr is where the hp comes from.

and that's the way we like it :)

my motor has 9.5:1 comp with 21psi and methanol (no cooler) and camtech said I could go up to 10.5:1 comp ... maybe I should next time the heads off :)

I find that intake temps have a huge effect on cylinder temps and more so pressure charge in a boosted engine. Not so much on something that's mild but in a decent combo pushing the power adder and or the engine, things can swing pretty big and fast..........even when E85 is the fuel of choice. People resting on E85 not knocking may miss the trap of this cos it's easy to go past MBT and go into un productive timing and simply raising cylinder temps. Can still pop a head gasket on E85 hahaha

This combo being SC14 and producing what it does would classify as on the upper edge of the power adders limits so doing very well for what it is and a cam change may see it fall away. Methanol is just yummy :punk:

thats where a dyno is handy to get mbt
