oh and just so you know, you can compare the bins i made to any of the 12P ones you have and see what tables i've changed etc, but pretty basically:

* ve table
* idle and main spark tables
* open loop AFR table
* cold engine AFR table (hopefully help with cold running issues)
* idle rpm settings for manual

then the second tune is the same as above but has the stock $12P ve table numbers up to 1000rpm to see if it helps it with hunting if that becomes an issue in the first one.

also changed speedo sensor PPK to suit VN/VP

Well I tried both bins this arvo and found...

Tune 1 -

Warmup was still pretty wobbly with the idle hunting enough to stall the car a couple of times...once the engine got over bout 60c it seemed to even out and idle pretty well, there's slight hunting but nothing like before.

Once it had warmed up I went for a drive. It no longer stalls when coasting!...During my initial quick drive (which I failed to record) It drove pretty dam well, I went for another one and the revs dip when coasting and idle started to hunt again, then took a little while to sort itself out and idle normally once stopped.


Tune 2 -

Went for a drive, idle seems fine, although its a but funny to drive, revs dont seem to drop during gear changes etc...
The revs don't drop when coasting either, in fact they sit quite high.



I haven't been power cycing the ecu when once I written a new bin to the ecu. I figured that was fine because these are all 12p tunes ???

Oh yea, the speedo on the TP5 dash shows im hauling some serious ass now! 150km/h!

As a learning experience I tried to recreate your tunes a bit...uploaded and went for a drive...seems to be reasonably stable...still has a wobbly idle when coasting thou...

Weirdly with the Pusles/Km set to 1250.05 my 40km / hour is about 109km/h on the TP5 dash so about 63% ish out...weird hey... So im goning to increase the rate to about 2040 and see what happens.

If blms are turned on you may have to reset the ecm each time you change tune.

you may have one of the switches in the 'marks adaptors' speed adaptor box in the wrong position if the speedo in tune pro is that far out, think their are 4 swithches in their and the reccomend switch 4 to be on.
good luck with your tune and each time you change the tune you should reset the ecu and then start motor, rev it at 1500rpm (i think) for 30 seconds, which is supposed to reset IAC

If you know how many % its out, you should adjust the ppk by that percentage and you should get it dead on. Sounds like you need 63% less (37% of original value), so 1250*0.37= 465.46

Well, 3000ppk was 'exactly' right in the end. So atleast ive got that bit sorted

Is anyone upto explaining why the revs dip and in extreme cases stall the engine when coasting ? Is that something to do with the DE maps / scalars ?

Im sure you know more than me, but isnt the relationship the reverse to that... ie the more pulses it takes to register a speed the slower the ecu thinks your going ?

Roger, well, if I make any huge changes to the VE maps etc, Ill make sure I reset the ecu first...I think im gona need a switch inside the cabin , ill be doing it so much

That could be why Holden202's second tune misbehaved a bit.

Its weird that there's no option to 'reset' the ecu from software like the nissan ecu's
