Another little update COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC;

Amazing how well common EFI fuel filters work after 40,000Kms of work clean fuel is blowing through it normal way & merky is blowing through it backwards!

Hey All,

Still playing with this & wondering what an ultrasonic bath does & how important it is to finish injector cleaning job off? There was a good youtube vid for this too.

Not sure if anyone is following this or has tried a similar setup?

But been testing a bit for a while & was always getting a slightly higher flow from 2nd closest port to the regulator & the closest to it lower!

So not sure how reliable it's going to be for testing!

Here's one I did the other day - the ultrasonic bath is full of water, and the jar sittng in that holds methanol (and the injector).
The methanol was fresh before starting ;)
I know the proper method of ultrasonic cleaning involves pumping cleaner through the injectors and pulsing them while in the bath, but this was just for giggles while I was killing time.

WOW, That is pretty cool, I think I might have to invest!

Was the injector reasonably externally clean before putting it in the bath?

Yep it was clean except for carbon around the tip - but that pic might be a bit misleading, as the combination of methanol and ultrasonic waves stripped the paint off the injector :shock:

I've found my cleaner to be more or less useless with water/detergent baths etc, but add something more agressive and it does wonders.
Here's a pair of old spark plugs that I fouled the other day - one has spent 3 minutes in the cleaner with a little citric acid, can you pick which one? ;)

My little ultrasonic cleaner cost less than the 8 spark plugs I've cleaned in it this morning, so has paid for itself I reckon :mrgreen:

Nice work Festy!

With spark plugs & citric acid did you just have that direct in the bath, not like injector in methanol in glass?

Could you not put methanol direct in bowl as it could ignite?

Yeah I have to get me 1 too, I tried telling the mrs we need 1 to clean jewelry & she said why bother just take them to jewellery shop, guess I'll have to find another excuse! LOL
