24 teeth for a V8... 18 teeth for a V6... both are 6 teeth between cylinders. perhaps it will just work.

yeah in understand what your saying, but does flipping the v6 option mean it uses the same 24 teeth and changes the amount of times it fires to suit ?

Holden202T wrote:if it doesn't have the cam sensor it will most likely be firing cylinder 1 as it sees the first reference pulse, then from there it will just go through the firing order each time it sees a pulse, but if the first cylinder needing to fire is cylinder 4 its going to be out a fair bit!

but also jayme, if its expecting to see 24 teeth and only sees 18 I don't see how that will stay in sequence ?

Hey Holden202T...what did you mean by

but if the first cylinder needing to fire is cylinder 4 its going to be out a fair bit!

without a cam sensor to tell it where number 1 is, the first pulse the pcm receives could be from any cylinder. from there im not sure how itll fire the injectors.

that being said... a VN fires them all at once. I doubt even an incorrect injector firing order would make it not run at all. you might just hear it sound slightly different.

The cam sensor is hooked up and all injector to fire...i just think they are firing at the wrong time..
What did holden202T mean by...................first cylinder needing to fire is cylinder 4

cyl 1 and 4 are both at TDC at the same time. with no cam sensor the computer can not tell the difference between them.

it doesnt matter if they are firing at the wrong time.... the fuel is still going tot eventually end up the cylinder to run, itll just pool in the manifold nad run down into the cylinder worrst care scenario. not really much different to you pouring fuel down the intake...

I have uploaded the ignition info I found for low rez.
It shows how they switch the ignition using a 12200411 pcm.

I was told the cam sensor is used to sync number one injector pulse
I was told to wire the injectors as per the sheet I upload before.
I was told that I had to reassign the injector bank assignment due to the V8 being different to the V6.
I was told a lot but how much is correct I didn't know.
