Down here in vic the speed cameras are operated by private contractors so we already don't need police to issue fines, if they can get more $$ I bet you they will !

Very interesting article Chuff. I wonder how our insurance companies will respond to driver-less cars? How much will we save with the premiums? Makes me laugh. My big objection is the collection of data and for what purpose will it be used. If it saves lives I'm all for it but if its used to make more money for the greedy insurance companies I'm definitely against it. What happens to that data? Who can buy it? I am getting so pissed off with the overseas call that already knows so much about you before they start their pitch to steal your money. My friend recently purchased a replacement van for his work with agreed value. It just got written off by an accident not has fault and then it all started. Originally valued at $17,000 and now they say (only after a few months) $14,000 payout value then it gets better a turd from the company rings up saying he is looking through the Trading Post and there is one for $9,000. You can imagine what his reply was.

I got as far as the bullshit statistics at the beginning of that video then gave up, obviously not a well thought out presentation just something to bamboozle the masses.

Dash cams are most decidedly opt-in, both in the installation of the device and the control of it. While it will keep a certain amount of recording automatically you get to choose what to retain permanently, not to mention having the power to remove the device entirely.
