You have mail! MAF tables and lean cruise fuel and spark.
Offsets for $51E code ...
Lean Cruise fuel - 0x46D1
MAF Tables start at - 0x48B4
Im not sure if i have done it right, just seeing what it would bring up.
In Tunerpro i used the "find items" option, set it to "At or containing this address" Useing the XDF table Holden202 provided, searched for "0x46D1" and it brought up "not right - Park/Neutral - Cold Engine Temperature Dependant Air/Fuel Ratio V's Coolant Temperature".
Assuming that the "not right" section is true would that mean the table it brings up is all wack to?
Once again im just playing around to see what each thing does but wondering if i may also be on the right track to be learning how it all works?
well if tables are already in the xdf "and are right" then you shouldn't need to do anything ... what i have been doing last night is right click, create new xdf item and then filling in all the details that give you that table you opened.
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
Oh ok. So the table i opened was infact the table that was mentioned but the fields were incorrect? I have been tuning the shift points lately. Comparing the stock bin to your custom bin seeing what to change. IE: Change one value and another one must be changed. Its similar to yours i guess, but the shift speeds are different IE: instead of 1 to 2 at 60Km/h im aiming for around the 50km/h mark as that seems to be a decent spot to shift and still get decent pick up in second. Havnt been out in the car driving around to test my theroy to refine it abit more, but im assuming im on the right track.
honestly i wouldn't be changing the 100% tps shift settings down at all .... they are pretty right from the factory, the only reason i had to change mine is because if i left it at the stock settings i'd hit the rev limiter before it changed to 2nd. (due to diff ratio etc)
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
I see, Im only comparing really, getting and idea, but modifying the stock bin file. I know when we go WOT in first it sits high up in the revs, not to mention sounds shit house, then kicks 2nd, and there isnt much pick up in that. Iv been talking to my mate who also has a VS, this is where the idea for all the mods came from, and he agrees that if it would kick 2nd abit earlier then the stock it might provide some more pick up. Not 100% but im waiting to hear from him again after he returns from the test trip i sent him out on then with some more specific speeds. I guess its more a preference then anything, but i do find i drive almost exactly like him. But thats the bonus of this, i can try out all different combos and find one better suited for my style of driving. Now that im aware that you have different mods and such to effect your engine ill try not to get many ideas from your tune and start from scratch again. Altho it has been very helpful to see what can be changed.
After his drive back, we decided it would be eco mode to mod. Just made a picture for you guys to check im on the right track. In eco mod shifting with WOT at 55. Havnt done 2nd to 3rd, wanted to make sure my method of changing it is correct. Also is there anything else i need to change (only working with 1st to 2nd) to help this process correctly or is that it?
Just been looking at the down shift too and the shift times (low alt and high alt) dont want to touch them unless i know what im doing.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Just make sure you mirror the changes in the 2-1 downshift table.
The downshift speed needs to be less than the upshift speed or the car will get very confused. ie.Will shift from 1-2 at 55kph, but if the 2-1 downshift is at 58, it will shift straight back to first.
Need to have enough gap to ensure that it doesn't get too busy.
Thanks for that tip too. Ill open up every table that has to do with eco mod 1st to 2nd and compare and have a guess of what needs to be changed. Thanks for all your help guys, im actually getting a grasp of tuning now.
I have heard the corvette servo piston is pretty good for improving first to second shifts it applies more pressure with a larger surface area.
I did fit one to a v8 auto but i also fitted a transgo stage 2 shiftkit at the same time so can't comment on the corvette servo alone.
But it was a massive improvement over a stock trans harder firmer shifts and chirps into second without the usual horrible sluggish flaring.
Cheers for the info. Ill do some more research on that as well. But im not entirely sure if i want harder shift change, just want to change from 1st to 2nd where 2nd still has more pick up. Sound sound abit better too as if anybody knows that owns a VS auto, soon as you go WOT in 1st around 60km/h it sounds terrible. So ill attempt to find a nice medium for power and note which is what i hope iv accomplished with the little change as above. Thats the first step, then the rest of the gears then ill move on to other things. Just got word that 50 to 55km/h is a preferred change heading out soon too test the theroy and discuss more about the pest options and putting them into play before actually burning the bin to the memcal.
I guess it might be safe to say its not a performance tune or eco tune right at this stage just preferred driving style and a leaner cruise on the highway then move onto something when i have more knowledge.
But as mentioned before i testing out alot of what im going to do my sight and feel really, getting into the car and trying different things. No cable or diagnostics.
