Ok done the memcal soldered in moates socket, modded the memcal
emulator works fantastic.car starts and runs but is fairly rich atm.
my prob now is the 808 coms board is hooked up but im not getting
any communication, and comes up with checksum, incorrect paremter errors.
not sure what to do i tried diff setting and com ports no go.
anyone else had similar probs with efi live? or am i better off with scanner pro?

can't really comment on efilive, i use TP5 now days and scanner pro in the past, and theres plenty of suitable $12 definitions for them on here.

will t5p work with the coms board i got the one with com port and
it will hook up to my old computer but i can only use efi live and i cant get it to
work even got the vr/vs v8 definitions and tried diff setting.
i bought a coms to usb cable but drivers only work on windows vista
and i have xp on my newer laptop,so it comes up as not reconized.
so it wont dectect hardware etc,its really fustrating,i need to data
log, should i just get the usb version of coms board and use tp5
or any suggestions?

TP5 will work if you have a USB-serial adapter that is either an FTDI chipset or certain prolific models ... https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=592

Any other model is hit and miss due to the non-standard baud rate of 8192.

with your old machine and the com port you probably need to change the echo settings.
