It's not that simple, the engine has to be completely dismantled, then bore the particular cylinder out. Have you got some pics of the pitting?

Here is a picture of the cylinder that is stuffed after cleaning . Ill take crank pistons out and take a few pictures to post :wall:

O-boy ... That's not good!

A complete tear down will be required, that's for sure.

As an ex machine shop owner, We refused all requests to mix new bores with old bores.

:x Yeah I know and the mate I got it off said it was a runner! any way just went down the street to get an engine stand, so I can get this apart :) will post some pictures in a few hours :thumbup:

It probably did/would run ... just not so well or for very long.

Reminds me of a VP motor I pulled from a good running car, drained it obviously but somehow the cylinders filled with water after the engine was put in storage. My guess is that there still was water in the intake passages and leaked through the bad intake gaskets.

Went to grab the motor and it barely turned by hand and sounded like sand paper. Took it apart and found the rear 2 filled with water and pitted just like that, was def a good runner before I pulled it.

Went straight to the tip that engine.

Hi Guy's got the engine apart everything looks pretty good except for that cylinder and the valves above it :thumbup: can you take a look? the engine came a part easy! lifters, pistons, crank nothing was stuck! :D
