i ended up hacking up the corvette loom and re-pinning to suit the VR v8 man diagram, using a 3082 computer, have my own relays powering it up, the injectors have power but the coil wiring i didn't change as all the pins (B5, D4, D5, B3) all lined up, sooo i must have cut the extra power feed to the coil or i'm missing abit of the loom, all the corvette diagrams i have have no mention of a power feed to the coil (or coil or that matter, as seen below)

hmm i thought it may be the case, but hoped that setting it to 8 cyclinder mode would sort that, will have to get it talking to the computer to change that

In the diagram the + and C are the ignition module power (switched via ignition relay) and coil negative connection, just extend the ignition feed for the module to the coil positive too. Oh and make sure the module is getting a good ground too.

Does the blue LED on the NVRAM stay on for a few seconds after turning the key off? Can you connect using the flashtool??

thanks for all your help guys, its great to have someone in the know to discuss issues with :D

yea in the diagram i figured they were just the plug that went to the coil, but the coil has another plug which must be for external power to both, pic below to show what i mean

blue light on nvram goes away as soon as key is off, i havent played with the flashtool, will download now and see what i can do

With the blue light turning off with the key it means that either...
- You dont have constant power and ignition power. Turning the key off turns off all power. The ECU shuts itself down after 2 seconds that ignition power is turned off but requires a constant 12v feed for this.
- Or there is no code running on the ECU, might need to check out the burning offsets and NVRAM construction. If this is the case wont be getting any data.

thats your problem, you have no power to the coil :D

i think this is what you need!

ones for tacho and the other is main power to the coil.

pins B1 and C16 at the ecu should have constant 12v via a fuse and pin A6 should have switched ignition power to turn the ecu on and off. then run the power to coil and module as holden202s diagram shows getting close to running now aye
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

i found the other plug for the coil... and now have spark, (i don't have the car here, will be back to work on it tonight, but have the loom and spare dissy which i'm spinning) but still no injector pulse, tried putting a few different standard memcal's in there, a couple of them don't give any injector pulse (i think these have the vats stuff in them) and the others (think all early 808's) give a pulse on the injectors... so the i installed one of these on side of nvram and tryed that, gave a much stronger injector pulse, i'm guessing this is limp mode (which it didn't have before cause of no memcal connected)

tried the flashtool, gives a error "Echo'd frame rxd, check echo settings match the interface type" so if i tick the "auto echo detect" it then says no devices found,

Pins B1 & C16 have constant power, and ignition switch turns on A6, the two injector banks and now the coil...
so maybe i have corrupted the data on the nvram?

yep, first thing you should do is take your tune you are going to run (I assume $12P v8 bin) set the ref angle to 10 deg ( aussie v8's are hall effect which is 60 deg), then burn to your nvram at 8000 offset and again at 18000 offset, that way it doesnt matter which way the bin select jumper is set on the board ( I can never remember lol)
that should boot and give you a connection on the serial.. hopefully :D
