The1's Daily
Re: The1's Daily
just a note, that the CLR from bunnings is a different CLR to what the supermarket sells, this is the oil/grease remover in the black bottle, not the silver bottle.

early vs should be 4.3LThe1 wrote:my VX Wagon has the different dipstick with the extra range, though i only put the same amount of oil as my vs. Ill get the engine on the stand so we can have a look inside the bottom and go from there.
vy 5.3L
Vt-Vx might be 4.8L from what I read. The dip stick had different levels to from the VY and the VT engine I have as I recall.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Re: The1's Daily
Just checked in SIP & with Holden Looks like Sump Oil Capacity without filter on all models is 4.0L, though they changed the spec to 4.5L for VT/VX/VY with the revised dipstick.
VT/VX/VY had the new revised Dipstick, VY Series II has the same dipstick but added in crosshatching to the correct level area.
Just compared dipsticks with my VT Engine and VX Engine and they are identical part numbers, here's the VS/VT dipstick comparison, the add line being the same level, they just fill the sump up with more oil, so you can just use a VT and up dipstick in your VS if you want.
Though in saying that they revised the sump gasket on VT and up perhaps to help stop it leaking with the extra oil in the sump.

Re: The1's Daily
i wonder if thats the same time when they started making servicing intervals 15,000kms ? maybe more oil to cope with the longer intervals ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: The1's Daily
VS handbook is 10,000km and VX Handbook says 10,000km also, maybe VY they started 15,000km?
Re: The1's Daily
tried CLR on spare set of injectors, spray on left for 10mins then wiped off, pretty happy with that, give it a go with a brush and would come up perfect. $15 for new seals and baskets then good to go.

Hi Tech world of recoing injectors
Put a screw in the end, place on floor in some pliers and pull Out comes the filter basket Old Compaired to new, Hazzard a guess some octane booster went through these injectors? Swap ORings, push in new filter and Done! Cost? About $5 from an injector place.
