Re: The1's Daily
if its dry, its silt/rust coming from the servo or processing plant. if its varnish it will be sticky like glue and stink like varnish.
in my experience all BP servos have brown/orange silt in the fuel.
I had several pumps fail. and I tried an experiment after cleaning out the tank and replacing the pump. I would only go to 1 servo and remove the tank after few months and get the same result. I repeated this on about 4 servos well apart from each other.
I get a tank full of red silt from each servo, I also separated the test from premium and regular. premium fared the worst.
All servos were BP. When I lived in Bendigo I used only the united servo up the road and when I replaced the pump then it was clean as a whistle inside.
So I conclude BP is shit.
BP fuel, on separate occasions. The shit thing is there are no other servos around other than BP, all which have the same dirty fuel.

In our area shell and united seem to be the best.
caltex mainly and as I have found BP as well are the bad fuel suppliers around here.
I reckon they got rid of the glass bowl on servo pumps for a reason.

yeah thats the stuff i see in BP fuel. Very fine dry powder of a red/brown colour. fuel has gone to shit in the last 5 years. Paying an arm and leg for crap just like everything else in Australia.
check out my vr fuel sender that used fuel from last decade. Almost like the NOS one I have. check valve and everything works. Tank in pristine inside.

Re: The1's Daily
fuel was good back in the old days. My half brother started his GTHO last year for the first time since 1994. Still running on the old fuel. modern fuel goes off after few weeks to a few months.
I am thinking how hard and legal is it to start manufacturing your own ethanol at home?
