Also, it seems the BCM or something decides to restart the pcm forcing a brick after about a minute of writing. Ive been writing quick flashes for a really long time in car and LOTS of them. This is my first brick in something like 2 years. And it was because I tried to load up a stock bin file to test something and it was a 2 minute flash. Reset around a minute in.

Can you post the bin up, and the service number? Ill see if I can check and reproduce at home if I have one of those pcms. Do you have BDM for recovery and therefore the ability to re-test?

Bin attached.

12209614 is service number of the PCM.

I now have 3 useless PCMs so I bought a BDM and I already have a bench harness, but I've not seen the p04 connections needed for the BDM to communicate.

Thanks

BDM is second pic here viewtopic.php?p=133106#p133106
The bin has the paramater block (which is what pcmhammer said too) I wanted to double check that so the bin looks ok. Voltage looks ok. Next up is bench test. You said in car, but I don't think that is it here, as it fails the erase, except evidently the erase succeeded.

This pcm was purchased as a backup. I assume it is fully functioning with an oem bin still on it. It has never accepted a flash from me. I did read it at one point but couldn’t find that file. I have only attempted bench flashes with it and it has never worked. I may have changed the vin number on it but don’t recall.

The other pcm that I bricked was an in car flash on a different pcm.

I guess the thing to help us internet people understand, is how many would you say have worked? If you are doing them all the time, thats good to know.

looks like my amd is 12583827 and my intel is 0938717 and my 96 is... to hard to dig up at the moment, but not relevant.

@rjdrew do you have a 12209614 on your bench?
