Great run, looks like you just keep getting quicker, now just need to borrow the NOS kit from the VN for giggles and laughs.

Over the last few weeks i have been helping my brother get the driveline out of his red vn v6 into the VS shell he has, so we finished that 4pm saturday arvo just in time for sunday at WSID.

The brother got a best of 13.5 with nitrous issues (pig rich) but all in all he was just happy to have a run after the last few weeks slogging it out in the shed!

Also had a mate with VZ Clubby, his first ever meeting at the drags, he did a best of 13.7 and i shaved a few hundreths off my 12.85 for a 12.81 hehehe

few vids from the day here:

in this video listen out for the comment about the ginger ninja, that was an sms from scotty's wife for him that they read out :)

was absolutely packed, 220 cars, apparently the competitor gates were closed about 40 minutes after they opened ... was a great day weather wise and i love the sunday option v's the wednesday nights!

this is coming back out, it is just an oportunity to see how much work i have ahead of me when the time comes.

early indications seem to suggest, turf the booster and probably run boosterless, and cut out around the back of the booster for the drive side head. The motor needs to go back about 3 inchs to allow the gearbox to line up on the current mount etc, and i think the further back i can get it the better, especially from the radiator point of view.

I don't know much about it, but the old Toyota Stout utes had a separate booster where the master cylinder fed the fluid to the booster that was mounted away on the wheel arch at the front with a vacuum supply. At least I assume it worked as a booster, can't see what else it could do, but then I have no idea how it worked without the mechanical side.

yeah that would be like this:

problem with these is they are a single circuit booster and would mean i'd need to get different master cylinder with single line out then put all the brake lines into that .... i think i would need an external proportioning valve if i was to do that too ...

its all possible, but i have no problems running it with no booster .... its looking like though after some tinkering tonight im going to need to move the brake pedal and master cylinder across an inch and re work all the firewall in that area and even then i'm not sure how well the exhaust is going to fit with the master cylinder and the steering AND the starter motor on that side.

i've been searching on the net for these conversions and from what i can see most people run them with the engine infront of the firewall (no cutting) and then just put the radiator into the grille area.

its a hard one, alot of work on the firewall and brakes or move the engine right forward and spend the time on the gearbox crossmember, new tailshaft and cutting into the front of the car to fit it that far forwards.

going to have to have a good think about it all cause a turbo on the 202 is starting to look alot more inviiting :P

another option for the master cyl is to use a reverse mounted assembly that goes on the inside of the firewall.
somehting like this:
