well after much measuring and comparing options and scratching head and beer i have decided that its just going to be too hard to fit the LS1 in the gemini without major modifications or big sacrifices, so i've decided against it.

the up side of it is that i am going to continue on the path of a turbo 202 which will be 1/10th the cost of doing the LS1 and should give me plenty of HP to scare the shit out of myself atleast once or twice!

i have a spare 202 short motor thats pretty fresh and has low comp pistons and bugger all taken off the deck so i'll basically check it over and put it back together with the right comp for boosted methanol and then use the current head and cam, and the cam i have in it now is actually a blower/turbo solid gring from camtech (planned ahead with that purchase) so should be a pretty straight forward build, will also use all the ARP gear in the current motor (but probably get a new set of rod bolts).

i've also found a website that sells holden 6 cylinder MLS gaskets :punk: and the rest should be just a matter of a turbo and some associated parts and then piece it all together.

i finally got around to getting a sheet of lightweight alloy which i plan to use for 'door trims' and i wanted to get this before i started cutting all the guys out of the doors, for obvious reasons.

so now i have said sheet, i got stuck into the first door! i've cut all the inner frame out and also removed the window and internal lock mechs, and then i got the side intrusion bar out, i used a piece of wood screwed to the bailey channel to hold the window up!

so as you can see the doors pretty much empty, want to get ride of a bit more of the intrusion bar but ran out of ginding discs!

all this stuff removed, i weighed it all and its 9kgs, so assuming all 4 doors will be the same i should be able to get nearly 40kgs out of the car!

i'm un-decided if i should remove the drivers front or not, i like being able to use the window etc .... see what happens.

30kg of stuff out should be good for a 10th on the 1/4.
