Re: 265 Hemi to efi
I've always run 1.5mm with efi in the past but since running boost I found I had to lower the gap to stop having issues with it missing, and that's with 6 LS2 coils, so I guess the answer is whatever works!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Yeah that's a large gap so should be right with 1.1., what I did read was the bigger the HP the smaller the gap.
On the test motor I found that The number one plug gap was way too small. I am not sure when that happened, I must have dropped the plug at some stage and it would have been adding to the misfiring problem. The idle timing is all set correctly and It's starting and idling pretty well now.

Re: 265 Hemi to efi
On another note, just got an email from Alan at 14point7 that they are replacing the Lambda controller under warranty. I sent the gauge back as I thought that was the problem but it was ok. I assume they must have had a heap of the controllers returned. I least I now know why the Wideband wasn't working on TunerPro.
The website now shows the Spartan Lambda Controller 2 as not available.

Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Probably just a bad batch.
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
I've got a custom aluminium manifold getting built now with welded bungs, utilising a Redline hemi6 4 barrel manifold and the VN v6 elbow. I met a great fabricator called Nick who is making it up. I had been driving past his shed on the way to work for years but never seen it open but he had a mobile number on the shed. I called and set up a meeting, when I walked in there was a CAmaro, a valiant VG 2 door, an AP6 and something else under cover on a hoist. All full custom jobs, turns out this guy builds cars from scratch for customers and mostly hand crafted stuff made by him. Anyway I took all the manifold stuff I had to him and he took the 4 barrel manifold, fuel rail, bungs, throttle body and elbow and will make an adaptor to fit the elbow to the 4 barrel flange, and weld in the bungs and the fuel rail mounts. Should be ready by next week so should be able to be running the fuel soon.

sounds like that's major hurdle sorted!

Wow it wont be long before a whole new adventure with tuning begins. I think your running std v6 injectors that being the case I would start with all the std settings for a V6 in 12P and reset the VE for maximum torque for that engine which I think might be in a lower rev range. Should be fun. Some settings are very easy to work with others like crank take a bit more time but these fellas will keep you on the straight and narrow.
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Yes certainly is and shouldn't be too over the top price wise as using standard stuff and making it fit together. Extra bonus is all the VN throttle plate mounts, vacuum port and MAP port are all in the stock V6 manifold elbow so no messing around trying to mount all this stuff.Holden202T wrote:nice findsounds like that's major hurdle sorted!
When I was sizing everything up I didn't think the fuel rail and injectors would fit with a four barrel flange and that why I was using the stock two barrel manifold as there was plenty of clearance. Nick said he could modify and shape the bottom section so it will have enough clearance. So all good and now I don't have to waste time on two different setups as this will be all I need going forward.
