did you change anything in the box to increase line pressure or anything like that or purely just need parts ? that said, even just correct clearances will mean less oil bleeding from bushes and seals etc!!

for some reason two of the sump bolts were different and one was snapped, i had noticed it when i was recoing the power steering rack last time, prob why i leak oil out the back, couldn't see any oil from rocker covers or rear main seal, my old trans had no leak out the front either, the car was a Gov lawyers car before i owned it so would have been serviced at holden, anyway easyout the old bolt and put some new ones in and torqued up will see how it goes.

All a little loose, torqued to 11nm ok so i think thread is fine, the bolt thread looks the same.

Here's the Holden Sump bolts and the one that was in it.

looks like the rear bolt from a buick sump. when you put a new ones in make sure its sealed with loctite thread sealer. You can use loctite flange sealer 515 under the head of the bolt to prevent leaks.

not sure, looking at the other sump i have here off the engine it would seem a bit of waste putting gasket goo on the bolt, the bolt is behind the seal so if it's leaking out the bolt then it's getting past the sump seal?

thats why I said under the bolt head. its specifies this in the workshop manual so the bolts don't leak. Well at least it does for the Buick.

You only have to with the buick.
The1 you are right about the ecotec,no need as the gasket does does stop it.
