I better check that the new O2 Sensor Location isn't leaking air... maybe that's why it keeps falling over.

as for your wideband, it did nothing at all in the log i looked at ?

Okay, lastnight I made the VE Tables in this file using a spreadsheet called wideband calculator.xls that I had on my system. I'm not sure if that's the one you're referring to?

Here's lastnight's result (bin file) from yesterdays logs for my first pass over the VE table through 'a' spreadsheet.

This morning I logged it gently on the throttle, and here's the log of the above file.

Then I sat on the side of the road, banged the numbers into the spreadsheet, then put it back into the VE Table in TP5, smoothed out any peaks ridges or troughs.

I'm following the The Basics Of Tuning A Delco ECM - V1.01.pdf guide, and this exercise is on page 2.

This next bin file resulted from the above. Note this is the second pass through 'a' spreadsheet.

Here is the log of the above file. It's only short, and not as gentle on the throttle, because I just wanted to see how it's all progressing.

It seems okay, so I guess I shall be ready to move onto page 4 of the guide, and start doing the AE tables next?

Message to anyone attemting to tune for the first time. You've got to follow the guide/s which can usually be found on this website.

ive not looked at the tune after you changed it with spreedsheet i just went back to my original and modified it a little on veiwing the logs.if the o2 sensor volts is correct its probably safe as houses to go full throttle but i wouldnt do sustained high rpm runs like burnouts etc yet LOL

Yeah the first one was amazing :o Currently even though the diff is 2.73:1 there's no wheel spin off a standing start.

The attached zip file contains two tunes and two corresponding logs. The set with "[adapted]" in the name are from the redcamaro_tune delcowizzid_2.bin that you posted above and the log. It's from a cold start too...

I had to adapt it because I'm back to 10 degrees advance reference angle at the crankshaft, and the tune bases you are using are from when it was at 6 degrees. Also the kinjiflow value is now 0.21

The (1987's) distributor has limitations that are between minimum of -3.5* (retard) to 42* advance (unlike the newer BLCF cars). This is updated in my later tune as well.

For comparison I also logged the my later tune that I have been working/learning on. I had to stop and change the VE table because the idle was way too rich on my sandbox tune, then that's where the log starts after that unscheduled stop.

I discovered that you can manipulate the values in realtime by dragging points on the 3D graph - that's fun. Sounds like it updates directly too when emulation is on. I don't think I've seen this feature of Tunerpro in any of the guides.

During the "sandbox" run I noticed that we lost the wideband again at time 04:05 you can see how wideband suddenly goes super lean then at 04:09 it's dead. I don't know why it does that, Holden202 may wish to comment on that aspect?

ANother quirk is when the (dual) cooling fans come on - there'd be a bit of drain on the battery, and everything moves, - not sure which values represent the cooling fans (on/off). I'll have to check the ECU pinout and trace it back. This makes the Xenons start flickering too - I need to get some capacitors for those.

Anyway here's the zip file. Incidentally in actually driving, my sandbox tune seems to have heaps more grunt than your tune... I guess you're just being carfeful - and I'll porobably have to eat those words later.

Keep up the good work Delcowizzid... I was thinking of setting up VNC access through mobile broadband so at bedtime you can tune in RT while I go for a drive.

there are batt voltage vs injector bpw tables that will need adjusting for when the fans come on to stop getting richer or leaner as the fans run "Voltage compensation vs Battery voltage"

if your tunes running good just keep tweaking i only made the first one to get you at least drivable and safe ish lol.
be carefull lean fuel ratios make power but also melt shit fast

Oh... don't be put off by a couple of administrative changes ;)

Here I've fixed your tune to match the current settings on the car. A comparison with the one you have (redcamaro_tune delcowizzid_2.bin) posted above will show that nothing else has been messed with.

I didn't mean to discourage your input. :punk:

I think it's good to run a parallel comparison, i.e. experienced Vs no-experience considering the gist of this topic (see the first post).

It's not like I'm sitting on my hands, I'm trying to share what little I know as well. I'd like to get better at it... I mean the input from you and Holden202 is really helpful, for me and I guess for anyone else who is learning too.

I'm also posting on thirdgen.org for the Chevy dudes in the US - and getting their input as well. Here's that thread URL http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/diy-p ... -aldl.html

Aside from all that, this next attachment contains the ADX and XDF files that I'm currently using too, incase anyone wants to check them.
