Maybe you should find an end off a harness to join on to yours so you don't have to cut the speed sensor.

That ebay add looks the same as the speed sensor from the n13 pulsar and the LD astra (the ones that had the '808). You could try that at the wreckers. I know one of those did fit on to my mates nissan T5, quite likely it is just a generic T5 sensor. They're easy to get too on the FWDs. Let us know if it works.

It has been a long time since I seen one but I think the n13 had a round shaft with a tag on the side like the Toyotas have.
If you are having trouble getting one I have about 20 speed sensors in a box at the workshop,so if you want me to send one give me a pm and just pay for post and its all yours.

funny thing about this subject. I just got some issues with my speedo just recently.

I noticed the speedo is drifting out. with cruise control on, I see the car speed up, rpm increase but speedo still reading the same. GPS confirms the speedo is reading much slower. its always been bang on, less than 1k error. now its about 6k and changes (drifts) while driving.

most likely VSS? given that the speedo and cruise control are drifting in sync.

the weird thing is. 80k below, bang on. 100k its 2-3k out, 110k its 6k out. On a hot day, everything seems ok, usual <1k out at 110k

makes sense and any error would be more noticeable at higher speeds
