Yep, that right, controls waste gate "twist and hope" :D

Hit a bit of a road block though, the customer wants to keep the twin DFI's (likes the look and has already spent heaps on leads), VL400's module can't do that, so back to square one...

Anybody got any ideas on what to use to control timing on two DFI modules with reference to boost?
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

sure we can, use use the GM coils on a receiving plate that looks the part and run VL's module elsewhere to run them.

you just have to get creative. :D

just mill a alloy plate to take the coils and mill in a receiving main plug at one end that will go to the module. It might be time for me to persuade him on one of my awesome custom looms?

it will make his engine look awesome.

That sounds good, could use GM holden DFI modules as base plates, I hope VL chimes in to confirm that would work.

yeah it would just be 6 coils running in sequence and one coil both leads to each head. the plugs will be firing together by the one coil.

My module does not drive coils directly, it either needs to be via an external ignitor (ie run 3 Bosch 0227100211 for 12 coils) or use coils with built in ignitors (ie LS1 style coils).

it will be a serious undertaking. just look at the amount of stuff to consider when deleting the MFI. appears to be drive by the passenger cam at the front of the engine ( back if you look from engine bay)

it will be a little more complex than converting a carby car from scratch, but well worth it. it would probably 1st of its kind in the world?

I pinched this 930 engine pic, from a guy I know of thats rebuilding this one.

so what about 6x V6 style coils? how many bosch drivers to that? 2?

You can get 1,2 and 4 channel ignitors (different bosch part numbers for the last three digits). Run a 2 and 4 channel.

Its often cheaper to use LSx coils, with more spark energy as an extra bonus. But Biggvl mentioned that the ign leads have recently been replaced so was keen to leave the current coils and leads in place.
