Hi Chris,
Very interested in your idea and happy to test, Im not great with circuitry and its design, your help would great. You would be compensated for your efforts.
Cheers, Gareth.

An easy way to control the power once your module has decided that traction is low and you need to act is to use an ls1 traction motor? The one that kicks your foot off the pedal lol. Im sure you can figure out how to drive that with an arduino or whatever your traction control brain is.
Might be a little too harsh for racing tho lol

Aka throttle relaxer, not a bad idea, saves on high EGT's

I certainly agree with Big about EGT. However most engines are adequately robust. What association do you run in? Is it modified production or street strokers ?

The other option would be an rpm rate based control. I am not sure if there is an rpm rate variable
available in the 424. Rpm rate is what Davis uses. I did look at it in the Autronic for a similar application
however the control action was too granular. Someone like VL400 could advise if rate control is possible
in a 424.
If you are an experienced racer, it could be simpler to change maps between races. Have 6 or more maps with various amounts of power and load them to suit the condions. I notice at midget (speedcar) events the track gets slicker as the night gets later. If we are running with sprint cars our feature is always last. Track is usually as slick as. Not sure how you manage that problem. Also if you can log your runs, pay particular attention to the corner exit rpm.

well econ and power mode having 2 spark maps then using flex out you can map any variable (rpm etc) to PWM drive (0 or 100%) to make it switch), then loop back the flex out to the map switch so the pcm can switch maps itself under a programmed condition. Very granular, and no feedback from wheels. Probably better for drag launches but might be usable somehow in this case.

How fast do you think the switching between maps would occur?

I recall someone said about 100ms

25ms for the pwr/econ switch polling.
