So I been shopping around, looks like all aftermarket replacement radiators use the same china plastic tanks with the non existent barbs.

I have to either keep looking or maybe consider an all alloy radiator that has barbs.

Quick eBay search and can see what you mean about the lack of barbs The larger T bolt style clamps may help hold the hoses on.

When I had a VN years ago I actualy put a brass radiator in it, it was Aus made and definatly cooled better than standard type, they may still make them ?

is that v8 or v6? cos you can still buy them for v8, not v6 though.

I don't think there is even such think as brass/copper one for v6 due to the fan mounting.

That was for V6, I was living in Adelaide at the time, it was the only one I've ever seen for a VN V6, it was made in Australia though

No go, all radiators are like this now. The owner of that place thought too its was stupid the barbs are so small but so far I am the first he seen where the hose came off.

He recommends against brass tanked rads. Aluminum radiators are good and he can get a adrad made in QLD one but they are about 700 bucks for one, double that of a china ones on ebay.

The other issue with that is, they are 56mm thick, way too much cooling!

can you not put some form of glue on the tank end then slip the hose over ? I know its not optimal but might be a suitable option ?

May be a long shot but how old is your hose ? May be a new one may not have stretched and will be tighter ? Or double up on the hose clamps or get a heavy duty hose clamp like a fuel injection fuel line clamp ?
