This is worth a read for sure, the dyno graph showing good spring Vs weak springs looks very familiar
Pull the springs and measure pronto....

The torque curve does nose dive though as Vlad said.
Still, springs are a good starting point. People have always erred on the light side with valve springs and hydraulic cams but I believe the opposite is now true, hydraulic lifters only pump up when valve train control is lost, more spring will keep that control for longer....

Here you go. Methanol seemed to bump up the power a lot. about 20hp just from the fuel change.
lol I just tried that on my new design and its up to 467hp haha. That be alright for an ecotec N/A

I reacon its not far off the good curve in that graph, that is power in that article, not torque...

What sort of push rods is it running? Push rod flex could be an issue if the springs are good.

We built this engine back in 2008, ive forgotten details like that.
Talking to my machinist the other day, he recons he may still have all those details recorded, will hear soon.

2008, that makes about 7 seasons of racing assuming it's been used every year since been built? sounds like it's time for a re-fresh.
Springs are probably well past due for peak performance.
