Re: The1's Daily
Fiddled with the exhaust a bit on the weekend. Threw out the crappy stock 2" exhaust Y pipe and made up a new 2 1/4" one with a new cat, old cat had fallen apart and all honeycomb was rattling around inside blocking it up, then still 2.5" cat back, put a Holley aero chamber main muffler and hushpower dbx at the rear. Sounds good and performance is up, getting same flow from the MAF readings on a hot day that i normally get a winter morning.

Re: The1's Daily
well i have a heap of parts together now, total cost between selling parts and buying the engine ive spent $800. i only have a few odds and ends to buy like gaskets, i need to take all the stuff down to get balanced and checked, i have two sets of rods and four sets of valves, ive cleaned all the valves up and ultrasonicly cleaned them and have a nice clean set ready for reseating, heads and Lim have been cleaned, i plan on atleast port matching lim to heads, i have a couple of weeks off, main aim is to atleast get everything ready and cleaned up, balancing done, so i can start putting it back together, im not in a rush atm unless the engine decides to die in the daily.
The build will end up being
Stock L67
Federal mogul pistons
Cometic headgaskets
Arp all round
ZZP XP Hot Cam (double row chain & 130 springs)
84mm pulley
Will be plenty nice for a daily, the ecotec has been quite fine, but sometimes there's that little need for boost.

I agree, the missus loves the L67. You don't need it most of the time but it's their when you do

Good to see that parts list. Will work well. I've found the 77mm pretty good with an uncooled xp cam. In lim temps go to 100degrees but still takes productive timing

should be able to annoy plenty of V8's with it
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: The1's Daily
does anyone know if the metal sump gaskets will work on the vs sump with the single oring type? or even both together to give better seal? Just wondering which one is best to order ive heard the metal ones are better but dont know if they fit the seal grove on the vs sump?
