most of the people i spoke to or read on forums are running 1/2 oil drain lines so i just did the same. One thing that seems to be fairly important is to have the drain go as straight down as you can into the sump, if its going to be a low mount turbo then they all ran scavenge pumps.

Just a query guys as im about to start to get into the conversion again as my holidays have been cancelled. How hard is it to have two tunes in the 808 and swap on the fly with the flick of a dip switch.

The reason I ask is my landy has petrol and gas. I was going to remove the gas and get a long range tank but now im thinking against it.

Can I have a dipswitch on the dash like I have at the moment controlling the fuel / gas that will do this and also adjust the boost of the turbo when switching tunes as I don't think the current gas converter would be able to handle the boost.

The gas system at the moment is a venturi type system. And I take it you would put the gas ring just before the throttle body after the turbo and intercooler?

Cheers

Andrew

Yeah, you can hook up the 'map switch' and run two maps in one tune . Items that are listed twice, with prefix MAP A: and MAP B: can have 2 settings. Which is used is selected by a flick of the switch. Or if the items you need are not are not included, you can use the NVRAM, and it allows 2 complete tunes, so you hook the switch up to the nvram instead, but you must stop the car, flick the switch and then start it again and have two complete copies of the tune on the one nvram.

So will the ecu control boost? Or does it require an electronic boost controller?.

Do I need to turn the car off if I go down the path of using MAP A and MAP B? As I really think all ill need to change is the ignition timing as fuel is obviously cut.

if you just want to change timing, then the 12p map switch feature will do what you need.

what are you trying to achieve with the boost control?

The only reason why i was thinking of the boost is to turn it down. As the LPG will probably be maxed out if its running at say 8psi.

Surely the lpg venturi would need to be before the turbo? Aren't those gas systems referenced to atmospheric pressure ? Unless you plan on running NA while on lpg

Map A and Map B switching can be done while the engine is running so can ground the ECU pin when you switch to gas and have it swap to the other spark map instantly.

for boost control, as you want it switched at the same time as you switch fuel, I'd use something along the lines of http://www.turbosmart.com.au/product/dual-stage and a dual pole switch so you can switch the ecu and the boost controller at the same time but specs say about 200% extra over wastegate setting, so if you wanted 4 and 8 psi they way I understand it you'd need a 4psi spring too.
