yeah and how you do it makes a difference.to get the most out of a centri charger you need to do like the fast procharger guys.use a big charger that can make 10psi at 1200rpm bleed off all you dont need via a wastegate in the cooler piping and have boost on tap everywhere in the rev range LOL

yeah I don't need that much though, even the raptor is way over kill for me. I don't need 10psi even at peak. I only want about 200kw at the flywheel but the raptor pushed over 300kw, too much lol

its all about a balanced road car, but since you guys do drag racing that is something that doesn't compute

na the boost "BUG" is the killer. 1 minute of driving with boost and you will be looking for more LOL.

the best thing is driving round with stock v6 fuel use figures but 400+hp at the crank if you feel the need.thats enough to kill most street cars you would generally see driving around, yet can still hook on a trailer etc and daily drive it.and probably still beat any car you see.
when the VB was manual and we were just getting the boost up we used to do some mean testing on bendy arse country roads at pace.it was like our own private tarmac rally.ide love the owner to take it on a sealed sprint or hill climb when they are on cause it can get through the corners well thats for sure

^ I also have my own privet hill climb track just down the road. Sharp bends, down through the forest, over the 1 lane bridge at the reservoir spill way, climb back up and around twisty tuns over looking a valley more forest and dam wall. hair pin turn at the top

yay!

If you have your mind set on a Super Charger setup, why not use an M90 as fitted to the VX Commodore's? Set up the right pulley, it'll pull like a "school boy" from idle. :driving:

yeah I could, looking for more efficiency and utilizing what I already have. The roots are not efficient the least to say.

I have looked as the CAPA performance VS-VT? vortech SC kit. The kits is a hack and a half. Many people have had catastrophic engine failures straight away. They say no tune required for 7 psi kits  well there's ya problem. Tuning wont be a problem obviously  after all I do have a delco 8-)

Anyway even Tim at raptor recommends the vortech for severe applications. his are fine for most people with auto, What does reduce the belt life as delco say its sudden changes in speed, throttle snapping shut.
If you have a manual and drive like a maniac. I would say the vortech is better. However his dual belt and in the works raptor M sound promising. We'll see anyway.

From what I have seen the vortech are unkillable. Only seen some bearings fail after high mileage

here is the capa kit.

Now, the mounting on this one actually looks like a really good spot and will work well in a VP ( better than the raptor) and some what well designed from what I can barely see, however the rest of the kit is a hack for sure, why they cut off and welded a 90 on the compressor is beyond me, could of done that to the duct or used a 90 silicone join instead. the duct is probably a PVC storm pipe from bunnings and thats why they couldn't weld to it?

If I purchase a reverse rotation vortech V3 sealed unit, I could make a similar bracket but cheaper and better everything else. The result should be a whole lot cheaper and better than any kit available currently.

in this configuration ^ I can actually fit a long run WTA intercooler quite comfortably. I have done the measurements for that already.

The charger itself is $2.5k, the bracket and air ducts will be stuff all. All other existing hardware will remain. So realistically it might set me back 3.5K but that's well worth it for something I'll make sure quality is at best.
