to expand on Delcowizzids comment about the 11P being the way to go, generally its the dash data that stops you from using the older map based computers in the VT's and 11P - which runs on a VR auto computer has got support to drive the VT dash :) something to take into consideration for a future project ?

Just need to bear in mind with 11P its only the main dash functions - temp gauge, speedo, CEL, pwr/econ light, gear display for VY and trip computer. The VT routes oil pressure status via the PCM but this is currently not implemented.

12P V112 also supports both VT and VY clusters and will be released along side 11P soon.

Sounds interesting I always assumed that the bcm dash abs cruise etc would make hard work of a rv auto ecu in a VT auto . How much rewriting etc would also be involved .?

so how does a S3 VS Ute come into this ? i know its basically a VT running gear and MAF computer, my brother has 355 with stock manifold, hes thinking come inlet manifold or something similar thats going to work better with the added breathing of the 355 etc, my thoughts are probably need to turf the maf computer but not sure on the rest of the car as in can i just get a VR/S V8 Auto MAP loom and computer and the rest will be fine ?

There will be a heap of rewiring and loom repinning still.

One thing I have not done yet is the ability for a VT BCM to request data from the PCM to send to the dash - the BCM is the bus master in a VT so continually sends out data and requests for nodes to respond. For earlier models the PCM was the master so it does the message sending and scheduling, in this case an 11P PCM sends data directly to the VT/VY dash which would stuff the bus up with the BCM trying the same.

This can be changed so 11P can reply to VT BCM requests, if there is demand will be added in later releases.

If it's a n/a 355 you will be fine using the maf ecu I have done a few 355/383 cammed engines , I've only come unstuck with this boosted engine .

im not saying MAF is no good, i just don't like it persoanlly :P i would also like to see a decent motor with maf and map dyno comparisons to see if there is any noticable difference!
