the VP certainly looks like a good score!

with spark its kinda hard to tune it without a dyno, but for cruise areas, if you increase/decrease the timing to get least throttle to hold speed that's the most efficient and only real way you can do it on the street .... kinda need two people to really do it though.

the knock sensor will help you to see if you've gone too far, you probably want a few degrees back from knock to be the optimum but its hard to know without a dyno for that sort of stuff what actually makes the most HP/torque.

in one of my logs, I got a power run 0-100 and few little knocks happen up at higher revs. when knock retard coming in I notice a slight increase in rpm, like a slight boost in acceleration.

Is is possible that maximum torque be made with less timing now in some areas? Is there ever a case when this can happen with the engine is breathing a lot better?

Yeah dyno time is what I need. VE table has been updated yesterday and is looking very close now.

I have noticed also a slight lean spike when jabbing the throttle open suddenly. It not a result of the VE so I guess I need more AE. Which parameter of AE do I adjust to increase the volume of AE? the duration seems alright.

yeah anything can change the timing the motor needs, fuel being worse or better, carbon build up in the motor can create knock also .... change in the inlet/exhaust.... generally the best spark will be a few degrees before it knocks, so the fact its knocking, retarding the timing and you feel it go better is probably just backing that theory up!

for AE look at the AE vs rpm table.

yeah check this out.

So a new log with the fatter VE and the monitor shows the target follows the WB just about perfect where yesterday it was a bit leaner in high revs.

bit of a shock was a little knock turned in to shit loads, across the whole 0-100 run on average 10º of retard was applied the whole time.

what surprised me is the 0-100 times were completely unchanged at 8.9sec from previous runs with virtually no knock and running leaner.

VE getting nailed though.

Also included the latest log and yesterday's one. Plus the bin if you are interested in taking a look.

On a side note. I found a bug in TP. if you add extra items to the monitor window, after 3 extra I think? if will freeze and crash TP if you try to close the monitor widow or move to another window like histogram, dash etc... :comp: happens every time.

turn the max knock rpm down to 3600 i noticed 12p is set higher than stock and will most likely just hear false knock at rpm

how easily is false knock generated?

I reckon I found the cause of the knock, very lean spike when I go bam on the gas pedal, both the lean spike and knock retard happen exact same time and it carries on for a while because of the decay time and probably because its such a large initial amount.

There is a little knock at high rpm that seem to add a little bit to the active retard with some logged counts in that area, those were always there from previous logs, only activates about 1.5º of knock retard.
The lean spike is at about 18:1 when its commanding around 13.5 at that moment, also the clutch drops at that moment as well suddenly loading up the engine.

I'll try up the AE and see what happens.
