Very tidy indeed.

its funny, i've been so used to it always being dodgy and so forth, and it never helped spilling methanol in it and that seemed to screw with the paint and attract rust, and its been a few years since i originally set it all up so it was due!
plus im hoping to get it on the dyno in the next week or 2 so i wanted to get the tank angled a bit more before that too cause it ran out last time on the dyno with heaps still in the tank (due to rear higher on the dyno)

so dyno yesterday.
where do i start......
third gear is fucked hehe ... always wondered about that as the last time i used third was my 11.77 pass at Sydney and it didn't seem to change hard as it should and seemed to hold high revs to the finish line, like it was slipping .... anyways so we dynoed in second gear cause i mainly wanted to test stuff and didn't care if the numbers were off, glenn reckons you get more HP in 1:1 gear so who knows.
so fuel system is likely too small, managed to get the fuelling to .84 lambda i think it was, and got a best of 327hp at the wheels (not displayed in this graph though), its still a long way off the commanded AFR of .74 on full boost but its safe enough to not kill anything...
plus side, 6 x LS2 coils worked perfectly and the rising rate regulator stopped it leaning out just before 6000rpm, flat AFR on the dyno but fuel pressure was only 40psi when it should have been 60-65 or so.
also for some reason we were unable to load it at full throttle on the dyno so glenn was having to hold it at about 60% tps then as he let it go he nailed the throttle, so i dunno how much that effected things, and im not sure if that's what caused the initial dip in the hp readings or not, but theres definitely a lot more to do on this one!

plan is to fit second fuel pump and larger lines to the rail and re-test ... also going to run it with less boost for the time being to keep it safe ...
i have another freshly rebuilt trimatic i am going to put in before WSID in two weeks too, so hopefully that will help a bit!

i'm debating going to e85 too, but will decide that after the fuel system is upgraded and the injectors happen to be the limiting factor.

E85 seems to get good results especially with boost. Is it available at a servo near you?

if I go E85 it wont be from the pump, its ethanol content varies too much!
my mate runs his race car on e85 and keeps telling me to use it so we can share a 44 gallon drum!

This is what you want. Not sure how price compares to Methanol?

44 of methanol = $300
44 of sucrogen e85 = $500
it actually works out roughly from the fact you use more methanol than for the same amount of e85 that it would take to go the same distance as methanol its about $325 so not a lot dearer than methanol in the long term but it is for the initial outlay.
the difference is compared to petrol you need 2.3 times more flow for methanol and 1.5 for e85, and e85 from what I've heard can handle n/a compression ratios of near on 13:1 so it should still be fine for the compression and boost I want to run.
