Time to update this thread.

I recently replaced the battery which to my surprise initially really upset how the engine ran, fuel economy suffered, shift points seemed all over the place. I really have no explanation for any of this TBH.

Anyway, I figured it was time to experiment with the plug gaps, previously I had an ignition miss @ 8psi so I closed up the plug gaps to about 1.1 - 1.2mm from 1.5mm, today I opened the plug gaps up to 1.3mm with 10psi. Took it for a blast around the block and no noticeable ignition miss, been cruising around this arvo running some errands and it feels better overall. Will take some time to see if fuel economy has been effected/altered.

Managed to separate one plug lead trying to get it off, fortunately I have a few spared so we weren't down and out for too long.

sounds like you had the battery disconnected long enough to wipe all the learnt fuel trims and adaptive shift points ?!

Yep, I figured that also but I can't believe how for off things were for a while.
