ouch, for msd id rather a working unit to compair
understand, but there's no symptom at all, just a dead shielas crack?...

Got magp sick coil, tests identical to my other bad coil only jumps 10mm gap so out of 2 coils so far when then go bad they drop to a 1/4 voltage.

Hmmm interesting. On the car it had nothing, wouldn't arc on itself.

Lol I just fixed my errors, I was reading mm on this ruler and thinking it was cm :wall: , have fixed my results up now, yeh 10mm so yeh no hope in making the 24mm pole gap

How would a healthy coil handle a higher supply voltage like 16 volts?

I found it made no difference, once they got to the gap limit, I did notice with brand new coils there a good spark then nothing once the limit is reached but with used old OEM coils they go intermittent close to the limit
