You're logic sounds correct. KMs in the GM that I have seen are usually just in the cluster.

I have seen it in the bcm and cluster mostly! and any e series pcm seems to record it also! But doesn’t ever seem to use it. I have detected fraud this way!

Friend bought a vehicle with a e78 and the kms seems low for what it looked like … bcm vin didn’t match the body and did df showed 190,000 kms more than what the bcm showed!!

Tried ff ff ff for return of a4, no dice stuck here atm. On to bigger and better things like Colorado bcm eeprom read/write
