Round tube: I've never worked on doing a whole high quallity chassis out of that. Yes, I know its (slightly) stronger than the square stuff I usually use, but I find all the fish mouthing is a pain. Hell I just get pissed off doing suspension arms...

(and yes I know you can set up the mill/get a machine to do it)

One day I'll go all out and get the gear to do it, I'll just sit here in the mean time being jealous

I built it when i was about 18 from old junk i had lying around .Its got a xt 500 5 speed motorbike engine and no brakes ,just accel , clutch and gearlever .To stop it i just click it back to 1st and do a compression lockup.
One of these days im going to resurrect it ,with a new frame(ive cracked it about 5 times) and of coarse a delco ecm.
:driving: :driving: :driving: :punk:
Doing a small gokart like that was something I always wanted to do, but never had the time, nor space. Since my old work was dominated by making full size cars, the idea of small things got tossed out the window :( The other problem is now, I'd start small, but it would end up as a monster!

Really that thing looks heaps cool! I wish I could have done something like that when I was 18!

.
..
...

But more importantly do I sense somebody asking VL400 to add a 1cylinder option to the OSE12P code? I have this 4 stroke Briggs in my workshop that keeps glaring at me.... :punk:
...when in doubt, simply throw more electronics at it!

well both base plates are in now, so next is the main hoop :punk:

been slow progress, but i had to weld a plate in on the passenger side before i could weld the base plate in over the top of it so that took up a bit of time.

Ive been thinking of ways to run a 1 cyl on 2 cyl bin. If you had 2 trigger points per cycle ,the ecm would think it was a 2 cyl,you would get 2 sparks ,one waste spark, and 1 inj connected up.
Would be good if VL400 could add it to the code but .Maybe even a 2 stroke option.

in the above pic you can see the taxi bar installed, also i have installed another horizontal bar on the rear part of the back stays, this is for the old harness to attach to.

driver side intrusion bar is in and done, took me a while to make the box to attach it to near the front of the door, but i'm very happy with the result, and i reckon she'll be strong as!

you might be wondering why there is so much pad infront of the pipe left over .... well this is for when i decide to go full cage i have the mounting point already to go for it.

still got to do the passenger side mounting pad and intrusion bar, but thats for another day, im stuffed!

also plans are to make a mounting point off the taxi bar to attach the seat to the taxi bar, this is for some support of the upper part of the seat.
