Got my dynosim5 software the other day. It great.
So far I have simulated my VR, with damn close results given that exhaust and intake are only preset drop down options in this software.
many many hours and 1000s of simulations have come up with one rather small but punchy cam to make the power/torque curves suit what I want.
I tried just about every cam available off the shelf, geez many suck balls.
Just need to try to find flow figures for multi angle grind possibly with pocket porting to help with the simulation, though the simulation shows that higher lifts as well as higher lift head flow numbers dont do much for these engines. Low lift flow matters most and small valves do extremely well in this rev range.
So far, I have got better, more power and torque than any cam off the shelf for this application.

allways fun having a play on dynosim looks like shes had a good update from my old version few goodies in that new one just looking at the screen.heres my mates v6 street cam simmed on stock s1 head flow figures just 10:1 with cam small tube headers with mufflers all that v6 torquey goodness

I see you used the tuned port injection. I found with that selected my stock engine made peak power less than 4k rpm and peak torque was over 300 ft lb and the curve didn't look like my dyno run.
I selected the sports compact (short runner, large plenum) manifold and simulation suddenly became almost spot on, rear wheel torque and power figures matched with in few hp and lined up with the dyno. Also very similar to factory flywheel specs too.
even shows the twin torque peaks at same rpms as the dyno. So I used that for my basis
I also managed to get much smaller cam than yours by the looks with similar power. I used the iterator running 10s of 1000s tests to optimize my basic cam that I started with to improve torque and power while reducing the size of the cam at the same time, some hand tweaking as well.
its a bad ass tool this program!
delco, you wouldn't happen to know the flow specs of stock heads with 3 angle grind and back cut?
What version is your program?

this is the latest version 5.xxx something or other. supports windows 8 and everything. its more stuff in it than the old version.
it automatically updates off the net which is pretty cool.

btw whats the length of the rods in pre ecotec. I spent months looking of the figure on the net but nothing exists for this engine series. Can find all the info you want on old school 70-80s buicks and ecotec/L67 but not these engines? wonder why thats the case?

I thought the 3800 V6 rods were 6.38" long.

I knew they were over 6" but have no idea on exact numbers.
Im using 6.0 for my sim as I dont know.
