I have literally contacted every wrecker on ebay and gumtree for a LS2 ecu and GEN4 ecu....man they are expensive little buggers!
I thought LS1 ecus were bad, this is just plain right ridiculous! I cannot justify $300+ for a stock standard ecu. No tune, wiring or anything.. not that a tune would be useful in this circumstance! but daaaammmmnnnnn!
I think I saw a gen4 going for $650.. probably why no-one has bought it since its bloody stupid!
Gumtree sellers in WA dont want to split the ecu/bcm/tcm and engine from one another.
If anyone spots a LS2 or GEN4 on Ebay or gumtree that is reasonable, let me know! Its impossible to continue with development without them!

When you say LS2 Gen4 are you talking the E40 PCM, as they aren't very common & not worth wasting too much time on... IMHO
They went to the E38 pretty damn quick & A HELL of a lot more common!

Ahh.. yeah I think so. Are both those ECU's for LS2? I get a little lost in what each ecu is called (E38,E40 ect). I only ask since its an option in the tech2, so figured Id give it a crack. Really, all I need is the identifier code to send back to the tech2 so it thinks it is a LS2 and open up the menus.
The VZ V6 was 8036 or something like that.. I dont have the exact value on me.
I guess that is the same with the E38. Id assume they will both display the same parameters.. maybe? Either way, need the identifier.. and possibly the engine cal number to send back to the tech2 and continue the development.
*Just for my reference or Ill forget*
Only LS2 Gen4 = E40
The other gen IV (L98/L76/L77) = E38

Here it is..
Code: Select all
7E0 02 1A 9A 00 00 00 00 00
7E8 04 5A 9A 83 02 00 00 00
Identifier = 8302
So sending off 021A9A in the elm when on CAN11bit 500K should give the values I need

I think I've got 1 of every controller (except E40) to send the message, do I need anything special to do it or just open up any program that can send messages & send 7E0 02 1A 9A 00 00 00 00 & it should give me the info your after?
I think there is 2 different types for the E77 & E69 VE models SIDI & non!

So you buying 2 ? Ha ha his item description is good, it's all about his business not the item, believe it or not I've bought 2 things off him for my HQ, he must have put the add in just commodore section and I got them for a very good price !

Yeah this mob is an absolute rip off when it comes to NOS commodore stuff. Charges about 3-4+ X of what Holden charges. The stuff never moves, I seen most bits for sale 4 years later. How is that good business?
Must try to rely on buyer stupidity but so far that hasn't really worked
