Thanks Guys. I charged the battery on Sunday morning but haven't done so since, so will do this again tonight.

Pull the plugs while checking for spark initially, will save your battery and wont get the volts issue (have also had this great 'feature' leave me scratching my head). Can rig up a single plug on the coil output. Once your happy with it being a consistent spark (and can setup the cranking 10deg spark with a timing light) can put the plugs back in.

And disable the fuel system so you don't blow yourself up

Thanks and good advice. I should have pulled the plugs out a long time ago but I kept expecting the farkin thing to fire.
I still have the carby on at this stage so its not a big an issue of having the electric fuel pump running but I do have the fire extinguisher at hand.

Dropped home at lunchtime and did some more testing. I have power at the coil and signal pulse from the module at the coil but no spark from the distributor. What is the chance of the new coil being defective...Can't think of what else it could be.

can you test the coil on its own to see if it fires or not ?

Yes, I just dropped the coil off to be bench tested and hopefully should have a result before the weekend.
Some bundy tube arrived today so hopefully might get a chance to start my fuel return line. I found a great spot in the fuel tank inlet pipe that disconnects from the fuel tank by rubber hose so will be able to remove it for brazing to be nice and safe. Thanks for the hint.

Just got a call that the coil was tested and ok. It has to be something basic that I have done wrong. Looks like another weekend of frustration ahead, ha.

Last thing I can think of is did you ground/earth the Camira ignition module to one of the mounting screws that hold the module to the heatsink. This module must be grounded.

Thanks Kojab, yes done that. I have missed that before though.
The thing is there is a signal from the module going to the coil negative and also power through the pink wires. Maybe there is a problem with the connectors to the coil. I know the MSD works through the purple and green wires from the dizzy pick up so by rights I should be able to connect the signal wire to the white MSD wire disconnect the MSD purple and green wires and it should run.
I have tried this before and had no success but this was before I replaced the module.
