Hi all,

Gampy, this is from the label off of the PCM in my 2005 Chevy Venture Minivan:

Serv. No. 12583827
BCC: YJAA
HDW No.
12582720

My 2004 Oldsmobile Alero was the same except for the BCC, which is YFXY.
Mike

p.s., how do I upload a picture?

Mike, Thank you.

When you are in the editor, look to the lower left (left of the "Save Draft", "Preview", "Submit" buttons) you will see TABS with names like "Options", "Upload attachment" ...
Select: Upload attachment
Select: Browse
Browse to the file on your system and click on it.
Select: Open
It returns you to the editor,
Select: Add the file
At this point it is an Attachment, you can then add it inline if you want by placing your Blinking Cursor in the editor where you want the Inline attachment.
Select: Place Inline

-Enjoy

Hi all,

Gampy, thank you for the help.

Do they say Clear on them, like the P01/P59 say Red/Green??

The first thing they ask is: Year, Make, Model please ... If you don't give them that they say come back when you know what you want!
Because they don't know anything but what the computer tells them AFTER they type in Year, Make, Model!

On top of that, I have to send someone, they need someway to identify they are getting the right thing, they know nothing about PCM's.

Hi all,

Gampy, here is a picture that shows the "clear" connector label:

As Vampyre stated, most any GM front-wheel drive care from 1998 to 2005 used the 3100 or 3400 motor.
As an example, The "J-Body" line includes the Chevy Cavallier and the Pontiac Sunbird/Sunfire; the "N-Body" includes the Chevy Malibu, Olds Alero, and Pontiac Grand Am; the "U-Body" includes the Chevy Venture, Olds silhouette, and Pontiac Montana; the "W-Body" includes the Chevy Impala and Monte Carlo, Olds Cutlass and Intrigue, and Pontiac Grand Prix.
Unless I am Mistaken, 2006 was the year they used the 3500 that was based on the 3400 - the following year it was an entirely different motor based on the new 3900.

Hope this helps.

Mike

just tell them 2000 pontiac prand prix gt, no matter what pcm you get its a P04 because Grand prix only uses that one, other cars use either P04 for for v6 or P10 for 4cyl.

Hi all,

Vampyre, thanks for that tip - I wasn't aware that they used the same PCM.
Also, correct me if I am wrong please, ALL of the U-Body vans from 1999 to 2005 used the 3400, therefore all had the P04 PCM.

Mike.

BTW, does the P04 Blue connector use the same pins as the P01 for the Bench Harness?

Clear to the point, no ambiguity, exactly what I asked for.

Thank you!
