best thing to start with then, grab memcal id tool and open bins with xdf's and do crossreferences with other bins.

To search through an XDF for something like adaptive shift, click on the parameter table heading on left to put the focus in the right area, and hit ctrl + F, and pick find 'any' and 'with this phrase in the title' and type 'adaptive' in to the words field and hit find. Saves a lot of searching by eye with the well defined xdfs.

to the1,thanks m8,i have been doing something like that but a bit more primitivly, however i do have a question regarding youre suggestion,in the memcal id tool there are numerous files listed some with smileys some red, when i click on the bin down in the bottom left corner it opens my downloads file where i store all of the files i personaly downloaded,so is this wrong ,do i have to physicly load all of the files listed or have i downloaded memcal id incorrectly?

thanks antus ,that soundsa lot easier, allthough doing it my way i get to see a lot of the different parameters in the program, which is educational but for the future your way is so much easier,i have a job comming up ,it is an injected 5l that i will stroke ,port work and cam etc,i would like to see 500 - 530 hp and i would really like to tune this job myself but still nervous about doing so,so the race is on to learn as much as i can before the engine is finished, time will tell, cheers

it does do that if it's not in a directory, such as running it from C:\Memcal ID.exe it needs to be run in a directory
