There is a lot of people experimenting and learning, so give them some help and encouragement.Maybe his tension wrench is out, but far enough to blow a gasket out on first start up? Who knows but we are going through process of elimination and that’s why I asked if he had a compression gauge. Then I asked him to put some starting fluid down the intake to see if it fires up, then we know it could be pcm/tune or fuel. Where not all as smart as you! Take a look at your own attitude cause you jump up when someone says something you don’t agree with. At least I’m trying to help the op by getting details so I can try and work out what’s going on! What did you do? Just got on here and shot him down! I need the attitude check? Come on.
Sorry about this op.

To the OP,

If I insulted you in any way, I appologize, obviously that was not my intent, your own words indicate lack of understanding, I was unsure and only trying to prevent damage, If that is wrong, then I am wrong and I apologize.

BTW, I did have an extremely clear understanding what you were talking about.

Intelligence is in the details!

It is easier not to learn bad habits, then it is to break them!

If I was here to win a popularity contest, their would be no point, so I wouldn't be here!

Thankyou very much VS SS for backing me my torque wrench does still work and still clicks at the correct torque, I've also backed off the rocker bolts just to see if anything changed and still nothing still just fires but doesn't stay running and also I bought some start ya bastard tried for a while kept spraying it into the throttle body and nothing won't stay running, I haven't done a comp test as yet as I don't have a compression tester but when I saw around 60-80 psi oil pressure I thought it should be good and holding pressure but that does back down fairly quickly but probaly because it's just not starting.

Cheers Gampy it's ok all good I don't take anything to heart I really just need this engine started, Having no car and paying rego on it really sucks but I never thought this top swap would turn into such a nightmare I really don't know what to do next and with limited funds...the heads looked pretty good no cracking, filled up the chamber's with fuel overnight without any leaks...

The only thing I can put it down to is the Ecotec injectors & fuel pump or the tune in the ecu but than again I'm no mechanic or tuner

Or the timing of the engine although I never touched the timing chains or even pulled the front cover off, I left the harmonic balancer to last after the heads and charger etc was installed

The fact it has that much oil pressure means you bottom end as far as bearings etc should be good, but has nothing to do with cylinder pressure. I think I ask you this but have you had this bottom end running before the top swap.

Did you check the reluctor wheel behind the harmonic balancer before you installed it? Was it new or second hand ? I’ve just seen slightly bend reluctor wheels take out crank angle sensors. Na won’t be a problem in the cam etc if it was running before and you haven’t touched that.
