Oil pumps to return hot turbo oil to the sump are a pain in the arse, ask me how I know!!

Or do you to expect the turbo to be above sump height?

I have a twin turbo VE low mount, took 3 iterations of return system to get something reliable. (always used expensive brand name stuff too)

Yeah the drain needs to be no more then a certain angle or they don’t drain and the turbo starts pushing oil

There are ways around having the angles past that point but then you start looking into catch tanks and lift pumps ect. You’re better off, if you can, just keeping the angles right. Hence why I’ve kept budget low on anticipation of fitment and mock-up.

Brings back some memories. I remember Anthony talking about fuel systems in the same manner. In a drag race situation you want the outlets facing the same way gravity naturally wants to travel as well. Especially when there’s some g forces involved.

Remember eddy’s old 1500hp hp vh. Anthony done the turbos and tuning on it. If you can find the old videos of it, you’ll see. That’s why eddy grabbed Anthony after it and tried to give him the credit. But Anthony being a true gentleman said no. You built the car it’s your credit. Much respect. Fuck I learnt a lot while working there.

After that I ended up as a mechanic for hi haul. Back when they were carting the bridge beams for the east link. Was a multi million dollar contract. But was still too big for one company to take on all the work. I think there was another 2 or 3 heavy Hualage company’s we had to kick work back too. We had the main contract though. 70+ hrs weeks just as a mechanic. I remember sitting down at the end of the day to take my overalls off. And that’s alls I remember. Besides someone kicking me, telling me it’s time to wake up and go home .
