Only problem is it sits too low and lightly pushing the bum makes it hit the bump stops, but I have a set of commodore springs that are thicker and longer so i'll be sorting that issue pretty quickly

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
That's the same diff I put in my LB Lancer. I bought a diff from a Nissan Pintara which has the 3.89 ration and 4 stud axles and narrowed it down then swapped the short axle to the long side cut the other one down and got it resplined. Added an extra leaf spring and a LSD centre and it works a treat. It would have been nice to set it up with 4 link like your one but with leaf original it's a big job to convert.
The leaf might be easier but having no room for tramp rods the only way to reduce axle tramp was to add the extra leaf. Amazing how much stiffer the suspension becomes and the springs still wind up under acceleration. I was chasing a knocking noise under acceleration and it turned out to be the tailshaft lifting up and hitting the handbrake cable flicking it sideways into the tunnel so I would definitely like to go 5 link but don't want the rego hassles with another engineers report.
yeah i once mentioned i'd love to register with with a 202 in it to my engineer once, and i thought he'd be un-happy with the firewall mods, but it was cutting into the floor and the commodore control arms that he wasn't keen on!

I'm surprised he would even entertain the idea. I would think the max you would get away with would be a 173 non turbo and that's guessing the std Gemini is 950kg but they are probably lighter than that. The formula is original weight*0.183 (and has been since 1994 maybe earlier)to get registered as a modified car (in NSW). I suppose you could try as an individually constructed vehicle. Boy what a headache that can be.
