VL,

You and I have communicated earlier this year regarding the LT-5 ignition module. It's the one part which has no apparent replacement. Someone in our community here in the States is working on adapting the 411 PCM to the LT-5. Would ur programmable IM fit w any of this? I read that it won't drive the coils directly like the stock IM currently does. However, could it be adapted to work w stock ECM, using the stock 9tooth reluctor, cam sensor, and LSx coils? Even needing a 24tooth reluctor could work as we are currently retrofitting that reluctor wheel to the crank nose. If so, you would have some eager testers here in the States. It's our sense that a stronger ignition system would benefit the high winding LT-5 significantly beyond providing us w an alternative to the current IM. Look forward to hearing from you.

I believe VL400's ignition module should be able to work with the different crank triggers and such but I don't know that it will interface to the 411 properly if at all. Its been designed to talk to the delco ECM ....

it will drive the LSx coils no problems also.

As I have said in our email comms a few months back there are a number of differences which wont make it plug and play in its current form. There are some hardware and software differences (the two main ones being no ECU dwell control like our ECUs and the extra hardware outputs required to interface with the ECU).

The 9 tooth crank trigger is not a problem to work with.

But, the biggest problem is with the testing. It is pretty much impossible to safely develop the hardware and software without a bench setup using the original ECU.

It would be great if some variant of this could be used as signal translator from 18x/3x to 24x and 58x and vice versa. I expect the circuitry is already there it's just a software thing?

You cannot really increase the number of reference pulses. Predicting the engine accel/decel is possible but it certainly wont be accurate like a real trigger wheel with physical teeth. You can run an LS1 PCM in low res mode using the standard 3X trigger, no module needed.

What if our community could provide you an ECM and do some funding of developing the necessary software/hardware mods for this to work? There's should be sufficient space in the code with removal of programming we don't use (noise control, EGR) to implement Dwell Control for the LSx coils. I may be showing my ignorance here if making this too simple. Or could dwell control be incorporated into your module?

I think your best bet with this module would be to run a '165 pcm with ose 12p code. Not exactly what your looking for, but it would be a good tunable solution.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with this. What is "ose 12p code"?

it is custom made ecu code made by vl400 that will run on the USA 1227165 delco ecu has lots of additions 1 2 and 3 bar map sensing etc http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=356
